IT Technician (f/m/x) 

to help and support us by monitoring the Render Farm and by being involved with every aspect of our motion design and production pipeline.
What will you do? 

Your Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Installation & Configuration Expertise: Set up and configure workstations, operating systems (Windows + Linux), drivers, and software applications for end users.
  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine system updates, security patches, and hardware upgrades to maintain optimal performance and security.
  • Inventory Management: Track and manage team assets (licenses, hardware, peripherals, etc.), ensuring accurate records and efficient resource allocation.
  • Help Desk Support: Provide timely assistance to users via phone, email, or in-person interactions, delivering effective solutions to technical problems.
  • User Account Management: Create and manage user accounts (primarily within Maxon), including setting up passwords and access permissions.
  • Documentation: Generate documentation for common procedures and troubleshooting steps within our knowledge base (primarily Confluence/Jira).
  • Remote Support: Use remote access tools (e.g., TeamViewer, Parsec, Windows Remote Desktop) to assist users working remotely or across multiple locations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals to improve infrastructure and resolve issues.
  • Escalation Management: Identify and escalate advanced technical issues to IT or other relevant coworkers when necessary.
  • Proactivity: problem-solver with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Here’s what we think you need to succeed in this role:

 

  • Advanced Windows Knowledge: Analyse logs (event viewer/app logs such as those related to Cinema4D, Amazon Thinkbox Deadline), troubleshoot hardware compatibility, and perform basic networking tasks (DNS refresh, domain joining, remote access setup, etc.).
  • Basic Linux Knowledge: Navigate Linux environments, generate directories, and install software.
  • Computer Management Expertise: Configure BIOS settings, update hardware, and ensure systems are optimized for performance.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of the team.
  • A high degree of commitment, reliability and flexibility as well as business level communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel between our German offices (Wiesbaden, Berlin, Ingolstadt, Munich) as needed. Available or work onsite at least 2–3 days per week.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and develop professionally.
  • Respect for the procedures and requirements of a particular studio, production or pipeline.

Nice to have, but not necessary:


  • Previous experience installing and maintaining Amazon Thinkbox Deadline.
  • Experience with Jenkins as build pipeline.
  • Familiarity with automation tools for continuous integration and delivery
  • Knowledge of LUA scripting.
  • Understanding of Salt Minion environments.
  • Familiarity with Protopie.
