What will you do? 

As our new Backend Developer, you will join our lean setup and have a major impact on the technical direction of the platform itself. Your experience and voice matter as we are certainly aware that only as a team we can succeed.

Your day-to-day will include:

Building the next generation of products that are efficient, reliable, and scalable.
Designing, developing, and implementing robust APIs and services to integrate with diverse external partner systems (e.g., automotive companies, data providers for parking, regional commerce backends, weather services).
Conducting thorough API analysis, testing, and software design for complex integration projects.
Collaborating closely with the project management team and other engineering teams.

Who are you?

You have a passion for simple code which is functional and easy to understand and maintain and enjoy focusing on delivering quality centred around a great experience for the API user. You are a strong self-organizer with a hands-on mentality and have experience with hybrid work-from-home (4 of 5 days) software development, with sane planning and deadlines. Your experience in international and intercultural teams has allowed you to develop excellent communication skills in English. Your experience with team chats (Mattermost) and video calls makes collaboration with others easy and fun for you.

Here’s what we think you need to succeed in this role:

Programming Languages:

At least one solid year of professional experience in backend development using Go to build cloud platforms used in production.

Stack & Systems:

Strong experience with designing for Postgres and message queues such as Pub/Sub.
Expertise in defining REST APIs, designing microservices, and working with various Cloud APIs and integration protocols (e.g., AsyncAPI, MQTT).
Experience in building distributed low-latency systems exposing an API.
Proficiency in MacOS or Linux development environments.

Nice-to-have:

Additional experience with Java.
Knowledge of e-commerce tools and platforms such as Stripe and Shopify.
Familiarity with monitoring and debugging tools like Grafana and Postman.
